Dr. Jennifer Grove is a 2004 graduate of the University of Iowa, College of Dentistry. In 2004 & 2005 she practiced in Bloomington, Minnesota as an associate for a general dentist. During her time in Minnesota she had the opportunity to work in a practice with advanced technology and state-of-the-art equipment. This experience enabled her to enhance her skills as a dentist. In 2005 she and her husband, Andy, moved to Grimes, and helped with planning and preparation of Grove & Platt Dental Associates, PLC. Since opening in the fall of 2005, she has attended a continuing education course certifying her in Invisalign®, and has completed courses in the areas of endodontics and comprehensive orthodontics.

Dr. Grove and Andy live in Grimes along with their daughter, Gabriella, and their two dogs, Bismarck and Little Miss Mae Mae. In her free time she enjoys spending time with family and friends, cooking, shopping, reading, and fishing with her husband. Jennifer and Andy have thoroughly enjoyed getting involved in the community and meeting the wonderful people of Grimes and the surrounding communities .

Dr. Mark Platt is a 1982 graduate of the University of Iowa, College of Dentistry. He has been practicing general dentistry in Ogden, Iowa for 24 years. Throughout his career in the field of dentistry he has enriched his skills by attending many continuing education courses in the areas of full mouth reconstruction, comprehensive orthodontics, Invisalign®, and endodontics. He enjoys all aspects of dentistry, and he is thrilled to be able to practice with both of his children; Dr. Matthew Platt and Dr. Jennifer Grove.

In his free time he enjoys traveling with his family, gardening, spending time on his family farm, and relaxing at the Lake, but most of all he enjoys playing with his four grandchildren. Dr. Platt is also very active in his community and church. He and his wife, Debbie, reside in Ogden, IA.

Dr. Matthew Platt is a 2008 graduate of the University of Iowa, College of Dentistry. After graduating from University of Iowa in 2001 with a B.A. in Marketing, he lived in West Des Moines, where he worked for Patterson Dental Supply Company. He learned the trades on the products and also how to set up an office. In 2003 Dr. Matt and his family worked hand in hand to design and develop a business plan for opening a dental practice in Grimes. Dr. Matt brought the contacts, Dr. Jen brought the design ideas, and Dr. Mark brought the experience. They all fell in love with the community and could see the need for a new dental practice. Dr. Matt is currently working to continue his education in dentistry through a comprehensive orthodontics certification.

Dr. Platt relocated to this area with his family in spring of 2008. Dr. Platt together with his wife Betsy have three children; Caleb age 6, Adelyn age 2, and Asher born April 23rd. Matt has truly fulfilled a dream of working in the family business that he has been around for the better part of his life. In his free time he enjoys spending time with his family, frequenting parks with the kids, relaxing at the lake, and Hawkeye sporting events, Go Hawks!

Dr. Hawkins is a 2007 graduate of the University of Iowa College of Dentistry. She was originally inspired to go to dental school from her grandfather, Benny Hawkins, who is a retired Periodontist from the University of Iowa. Practicing general dentistry has been very rewarding for Dr. Hawkins. She was born and raised in Iowa City, which makes her a huge Hawkeye fan! Moving to the greater Des Moines area and working in Grimes has been an enjoyable and easy transition because she feels at home in the office and the community. Look for an upcoming name change in this Doctor, Dr. Hawkins and Jim are excited to announce they are engaged! They will get married in the spring in Iowa City. Aside from wedding planning she enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, watching Iowa sports, walking her dogs, as well as golfing and fishing with her finacee.

Dr. Hawkins has been a wonderful addition to our office. Since coming to our office in early July 2007, patients and staff have truly welcomed her into the family. From all of us at Grove & Platt Dental Associates, we are glad to have her here!
